About Courage Bootcamp
Backed by Science. Rooted in Principles. Proven by Play.
The Courage Builders™ Programme is Singapore’s first and only curriculum that combines Risky Play pedagogy with Ray Dalio’s Principles, helping children build problem-solving resilience from the inside out.
Our Methodology: Where Risky Play Meets Principles-Based Thinking
At DreamKids, we believe courage isn’t taught — it’s built. Through guided challenges, reflection, and powerful principles, children learn to face fear, think clearly, and act bravely.
Risky Play — The Body Learns First
Growth happens at the edge of safety.
Through guided Risky Play, children learn to:
-
Make independent decisions under uncertainty
-
Plan, assess, and problem-solve in real time
-
Experience success after struggle — the foundation of confidence
When a child whispers, “I’m scared… but I’ll try,” that’s courage in action.

Ray Dalio’s Principles — The Mind Reflects
Using a simplified version of Dalio’s 5-Step Problem Solving Framework, children learn to think through challenges like real problem-solvers.
-
Identify the problem – Recognize what’s difficult
-
Diagnose the cause – Understand what makes it scary
-
Design a plan – Think of new ways to try
-
Act to solve it – Take action with courage
-
Reflect & improve – Learn from what worked
Each step turns fear into clarity — and confusion into courage.

Day 1: Brave Beginnings
Children start the week discovering what it means to be brave. Through storytelling and Brave Body Breathing, they learn that courage begins with calming their minds and trying, even when they feel unsure.
Day 2: Build and Cross
Children put their bravery into action as they build and cross a bridge together! Every wobble teaches balance, focus, and perseverance — and every cheer reminds them that courage grows stronger with support.

Day 3: Fix It, Don't Quit
When things don’t go as planned, we don’t give up — we fix it! Through a team rescue game, children practice problem-solving and resilience, learning that mistakes are opportunities to grow.
THE 3-DAY COURAGE BOOTCAMP
Real play. Real fear. Real growth
What Parent Says
"This changed me as a parent as much as it changed my child."
Alicia Chew
Parents - Courage Cornerstones
Courage doesn’t grow in isolation — it grows in connection.
Children find their bravery when the adults around them create the right balance of safety, trust, and freedom.
As a parent, your role is to:
-
Model calm and confident responses when challenges arise
-
Allow your child to take manageable risks — and resist the urge to step in too soon
-
Reframe mistakes and failures as part of learning and growth
-
Celebrate effort and persistence, not just success
By understanding how your reactions shape your child’s sense of courage, you can nurture bravery every day — not just during the bootcamp.

Meet Our Founder — Dawn Choy
Mother. Educator. Dreamer. Founder of Dreamkids Kindergarten.
A Mother’s Dream, A Teacher’s Mission

When I founded Dreamkids, my vision was simple — to create a preschool where children could grow with curiosity, confidence, and character.
As a mother of four and an early childhood educator for over 20 years, I’ve seen firsthand how children thrive when they are given the freedom to explore, the safety to fail, and the encouragement to try again.
I wanted to build a school where learning feels like discovery, and every child is seen, heard, and valued.
Dreamkids was born from a mother’s heart and a teacher’s belief — that children don’t need to be taught to shine; they need the right space to grow.
